Daal Paratha Recipe


Wheat flour :-   1 cup

Oil  :-   2 tsp

Salt :-  as per required

For the filling:

Yellow Moong dal :-   ½ cup

Cumin seeds :-   ½ tsp

Turmeric powder :-  1 small pinch

Red chili powder:-   ½ tsp

Asafetida  :-      1 pinch

Oil  :-   2 tsp

Salt   :-  as per taste

Oil   :-   as required



1)    Take the wheat flour, Sieve it and knead it into dough. Add enough water to make it soft.

2)    Take Moong dal and keep it soaked in water for close to an hour. Once done, drain of the water.

3)    Now, take a cup of water and cook the dal.

4)    Take oil in the pan, and add to this asafetida, cumin seeds. Keep frying till they splutter. To this add the cooked Moong dal, salt, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Now mix it well.

5)    Keep cooking till the dal appears dry, once done set it aside for cooling.

6)    Now take the dough and roll it into small puri. Stuff the puri with the Moong dal mixture and close it from all the sides. Once done, roll the dough along with the mixture into a paratha.

7)    Take a griddle (tawa) and cook the paratha on both sides. Add oil if required.

8)    This paratha can be best served with curry.


Cheese Paratha Recipe


Whole Wheat Flour :-  2 cups

Water ((for kneading dough)

Cheese (shredded) :-  1 cup

Black Pepper Powder  :-  1 tsp

Salt  to taste

Green Coriander (chopped)

Oil  :-  3-4 tbsp

Method of preparation-

1.    Simple and soft dough should be kneaded with the help of water and flour.

2.    Equal sizes of balls from the dough should be made.

3.    The each ball should be rounded into small balls.

4.    The cheese, pepper, green coriander, salt should be mixed properly and this should be stuffed into the small rounds.

5.    All the sides should be sealed and patties should be made out of it.

6.    These should now be rolled into sizeable rounds ensuring that the cheese and pastry do not break or come out.

7.    Pan should be heated and the rounded rolls should be put on it.

8.    The sides should be switched once it is done and oil should be applied on the opposite bottom side.

9.    Both the sides should be pressed on the pan so that the paratha turns crispy and this can be served with hot cheese parathas.

Palak Paratha recipe

25 – 30 leaves Spinach
3 – 4 Green Chillies
4 cup Whole Wheat Flour (atta)
Salt as per taste
1/2 cup Vegetable Fat (ghee)
How to make palak paratha:
  • Wash the palak leaves. Set aside 100 gms and cut it coarsely.
  • Blanch the rest and refresh in cold water.
  • Wash and de-seed the green chillies. Cut roughly.
  • Puree the blanched palak leaves and green chillies together.
  • Sieve the atta with salt and make a soft dough with palak puree, cut palak and water if needed.
  • Cover with a moist cloth and keep aside for 30 minutes.
  • Divide into 8 equal portions.
  • Roll out each, spread some ghee and fold into half.
  • Fold again into quarter and keep aside for 5 minutes. roll out into triangles with each side of 6″ approximately.
  • Heat up a tawa and put the paratha over it. turn it and spread some ghee round it. turn Again and spread some ghee on the other side too.
  • Stir fry till both sides are evenly cooked.
  • Serve hot with yogurt.

Cheese Paratha Recipe

2 cup whole wheat flour (gehun atta)
Water for kneading a dough
1 cup cheese, shredded
1 tsp black pepper powder
Salt to taste
Chopped green coriander
3-4 tblsp oil
How to make cheese paratha:
  • First knead a simple soft dough by add water to the flour
  • Now make small equal balls of the dough
  • Roll each ball into a small round.
  • Mix the cheese, salt, pepper and coriander together and stuff a spoonful in the rounds.
  • Seal all the sides together and make small patties
  • Now roll these back again into sizeable rounds keeping in mind that the cheese does not break the pastry and come out.
  • Heat the tawa and put one rolled round on it.
  • Once it starts getting half done from the bottoms side, switch sides and rub oil well on the previously bottom side.
  • Now switch sides again and rub oil on the other side.
  • Keep pressing both the sides on the tawa so that the paratha becomes crispy and serve hot cheese paratha.
