Tamarind Chutney Recipe


Tamarind (imli):-  200 gms

Jaggery (Gur) :- 300 gms, grated

Black salt  :- one tsp

Cumin powder (Jeera):-      2 tsp (roasted)

Red chili powder  :- 2 tsp

Salt   :-     as per taste

Garam Masala  :-  1 tsp

Method of Preparation-

1)   Take five cups of water and put tamarind in it and cook it for ten mns

2)   Filter it and then add cumin powder, jaggery, garam masala, chili powder and salt. Mix it well.

3)   On medium flame, cook with all these, till the time jaggery is completely dissolved and the chutney starts getting thicker

4)   Separate the pulp, as it keeps cooling the thickness of the chutney keeps increasing. Hence one needs to check for consistency.
