Urad Dal Recipe

Ingredients:

Urad (white) Dal :- 1 cup

Sliced Onion   :-  1 nos

Tomato   :-   1 nos, diced

Ginger    :-    1 tsp, grated

Green chilies :-   1-2 nos, chopped

Coriander leaves  :-  as need, finely chopped

Cumin seeds (Jeera) :-  1 tsp

Bay leaf  :-  2 nos

Cloves :-    2 nos

Turmeric powder   :-   ½ tsp

Salt :-   as per taste

Garam Masala  :-  a pinch

Red chili powder :-   as per required

Oil:-   2 tbsp

Lemon juice   :-   1 tsp

Method Of Preparation

1)    Wash the Dal under water. Soak the Dal in water for almost 15 mns

2)    Take the Dal and boil it in full five cups of water. Keep boiling till it is cooked, but care needs to be taken that it does not become paste.

3)    Take oil in a pan and to this add bay leaf, cumin seeds, and cloves. Allow these to splutter.

4)    To this add Onion, ginger and green chili. Keep frying them till it becomes brown in color.

5)    To this add tomato and keep frying it till it appears soft. Add all the dry Masala (Chili powder, turmeric powder and salt). Keep frying this for a minute

6)    To this add the boiled Dal and Lemon juice. Gently mix them

7)    Garnish it with Garam Masala and coriander leaves.

8)    Serve it hot.
